From Earthquake to Innovation
Tami launched her first emergency preparedness business in 1997 in Los Angeles, California, inspired by the realization of just how vital it is to be ready for the unexpected. One earthquake was all it took to see how quickly essential services could disappear. That experience lit a fire in her to help others be ready for anything. Over the years, she’s guided countless families in building their own plans and supplies. After moving to Utah, Tami continued to grow her business and expand her reach, empowering families to plan with confidence and purpose. Recognizing the need for healthier, more customizable food storage, she joined forces with Jake to bring fresh ideas and innovation to the food storage industry.

From Packaging Line to Innovation
Jake is oddly passionate about how food is packaged. You may even call him a packaging and manufacturing nut. His food storage journey began back in 1997 on the production line at Security Foods (a few of you old-timers might remember it). Becoming an entrepreneur was always the dream, but somewhere between sealing bags and stacking pallets, he fell in love with the art of packaging dry foods. In 2010, he launched his own contract packaging company—now known as Copack Utah—which is still going strong today. There, he has provided packaging services to more than 20 different food storage companies, from fresh startups to some of the biggest names in the industry. Along the way, he’s seen exactly what works—and what doesn’t—across countless packaging methods and business models. That deep well of experience became the backbone of the Simply Food Storage Bucket System. Thanks to Jake, the same expertise, insight, and commitment to quality now shape everything we do, every single day.
