Popcorn
Popcorn is a whole grain, gluten free and very versatile. Who doesn't love popped popcorn? You can pop it on the stove in a pan or use any popper. Top it with an array of creative toppings and you instantly have a delicious whole grain snack.
However, another great way to use popcorn is to grind it. A coarse grind will give you cornmeal which is excellent for cornbread, corn muffins or any recipe calling for cornmeal. If you grind it into flour, you have masa and can make corn tortillas, or corn flour bread or corn flour biscuits, or use as a breading.
Popcorn has a 25+ year shelf life and makes a great addition to your food storage adding a wonderful variety to whole grains.
